But what is it?
NFTs are tokens that we can use to represent ownership of unique items. They let us tokenise things like art, collectibles, even real estate. They can only have one official owner at a time and they're secured by the Ethereum blockchain – no one can modify the record of ownership or copy/paste a new NFT into existence.
How Ethereum defines an NFT

To understand non-fungible, let's look at the opposite--fungible.

A fungible asset is interchangeable. Like one dollar bill is the same as any other dollar bill.

Currency is a fungible asset.

So non-fungible means unique or irreplaceable.

Non-fungible tokens are digital representations of one of a kind assets. The history of ownership is a fundamental property.

Each one contains an unalterable record of ownership baked right in! This makes them perfect for representing art.

Sure anyone can take a screenshot of an image. But an NFT is a verifiable original.

NFTs can help you:
Get familiar with web 3.0
In order to purchase an NFT you’ll have to navigate web 3.0. You’ll set up a crypto wallet. And you’ll use a smart contract. In the near future these will be everyday activities. Why not get some practice?

1
Use a smart contract
The more experience you have with smart contracts now, the smoother your life will be. You’ll be using them soon enough for important things like buying a house, service agreements, maybe even your job!

Make the world better
And, by participating in a blockchain transaction, you’ll be expediting decentralization. Don’t you ever feel like a cog in someone else’s business plan? Decentralization shifts the money and the power.
It is not necessary to change.
Survival is not mandatory.
